things a changin constantly

So it seems that we have a new horizon in front of us!

a few new things....
1.) we are going to be moving into that quaint little yellow house I spoke of first 6 months ago before I ever even got up here. the floor is being replaced as we speak and the rest of the remodel is left in our hands! they did replace the add-on that caught fire last year which was the utility room. it looks so awesome since being re-done. I can't wait to get started and make the house our own and to have a freakin washer/dryer that I don't have to pay 20 bucks each time to use them! he gave us the option as well to turn it over into a 'least to own' at anytime. and something I find cute as a button.. the address is 828 New St. Nothing like new beginnings on a street named New. too bad our anniversary isn't 8/28... that'd just be creepy.

2.) the boys were "discovered" so to speak. they have been in Nashville all week at the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Assoc.) convention. big top dog named people have approached them and stated "all the buzz at this convention is about you" "you're all we've been hearing about, so glad to finally get to hear you play" "we can't wait to have you at our (8 time winning Bluegrass Event of the Year) festival next year". the quotes I've been hearing from Nolan could go on and on. but the best ones of the week were from a man named Bil Vorndick (google him to see who all he's worked with). Nolan sent me a text message very late wednesday night that said "Just had a REALLY BIG producer come to our showcase and he loved us. He made Allison Krauss who she is today and a long list of others. He said that there is a buzz going around the convention about us and he wants to "take us to the next level". He wants us to call him next week and discuss our future!". When I woke up to that one I almost fell right over!! that is the best news. and then last night I got another text that said Lonesome Day Records wants to offer them a record deal and they'd like to talk next week as well! that is awesome news too!! they represent many of the good stuff in the bluegrass world and also one of my favorite singer/songwriters from Canada, Fred Eaglesmith.
when he first told me about Mr. Vorndick, I immediately thought happy thoughts, and then I was melancholy about it and then I was just out of this world excited again! I started thinking about what I'd wear to my first trip to the Grammy's, because we all know that's the very next step right?? lol i know i'm being silly but it's fun to go there in my head and talk about it with Melissa. she was glad to know she wasn't the only one thinking those things haha.
I'm so proud of those boys. I almost feel like a proud momma. I knew they could do and they just needed the right people the be around to give them the recognition they deserve. so well deserved! it is one of the most fun things ever to witness, someone's dreams come true... well almost. I hope the future gets brighter and brighter for my stars, the Hillbenders.

3.) on another note.. I don't have many other new things to say haha other than the usual. which makes them not new. I am just so happy with life right now, pinch me please. Work is going really well, Nolan and I are doing great, the dogs are alright and the weather has me happy as a lark too! It's so awesome to get to see a real "Fall" take place! the leaves are changing and it's gorgeous! the air is crisp. I have to have my heater on in the mornings and at night, and a jacket. I think I need a new pair of gloves for the season and now I'll have a real reason to wear all of those scarves I love so much!!!

ok enough rambling for now. I guess I've wasted enough of my work day (hey, it's friday and 4:30, give me a break). hope everyone enjoys their weekend. i know i will , Nolan comes home from Nashville tomorrow!!

love you and can't to see yall soon.. some of you next weekend yay!!
