I just wanted to come and chat for a second. I wanted to send a great BIG THANK YOU to my girls back home for the best Labor day weekend ever!!! I had such a great time with yall and getting to catch up and have fun. Sometimes it seems like I never left and then sometimes it seems like lots has changed. It was not only so good to see the girls but to see their kiddos! Being up here in Missouri, I only have one friend that has a little boy who is 6. So I don't get my kid time in like I used to! It was so cool to meet Mailey James and to also see all the new pregger girls! I still have a hard time believing they are pregnant when I don't get to see them haha. I also was able to make a few other stops to see some other friends and I am so thankful for that as well. Raesha and Beau also just had had their sweet baby girl, Brailey. She is so precious and tiny. I have a little fear of "fresh out of the womb" babies but she was just perfect. Raesha and I have always been on the same boat of not wanting kids but of course her plan changed when she and Beau got married. I couldn't imagine her not as a mom now. It definitely fits her well. They will be awesome parents.
I'm so excited also to see Chelsea with her little Finley when she comes after the first of the year. and Faith with her new boy/girl. First time mom's are the most intriguing to me... I think because it's all in the world of the unknown. Out of all of the girls.. it seems like Shanna may be the only one who doesn't stay with the norm and has boys. Lissa with 3 girls now, Chels with a girl on it's way and Anna with soon to be 3 girls! Crazy. Faith, maybe a boy is what you need to have to help balance out all of that estrogen.
While I was at home I also got to see my parents for a few hours. That was a special treat since we got in so late and they were set to leave pretty early the next morning. I'm glad they made the exception in their plans to come see me at Shanna's house. Can't believe it'd been since Christmas last year since I'd last seen them.
Now.. onto the present time.
FALL IS HERE!!! I'm so excited. Fall in the Midwest or wherever I am ( I think Missouri is confused) is absolutely stunning! The leaves are already starting to fall but I'm most excited for the change in colors!! However I dread that fall leads to winter... bitter, freezing, snowy, icy cold. Bleh. This year we've decided to have a Halloween party. I'm so excited!! I think Halloween is one of my favorite holidays ever. I think it's because ever since I can remember, halloween has always been a big event. My mom always made the coolest costumes for us and we always went all out. Not much has changed about me now. I wish I could run home (to my parents house) real quick and get all of those halloween decorations though. They just don't make em like they used to! We did buy a tin pumpkin with a spooky house in front to hang on the porch last night. I guess I have to start my own decoration collection. I bet Nolan is thrilled.
The HillBenders update-- the guys are still just as busy as ever! They leave again for a week long trip tomorrow, when I feel like I just got him back. This week they go to Georgia and happily this is only a handful of hours from where my parents are in SC so they are making the trip to see FINALLY see the guys play in person. I know they are so excited!! After GA, the boys head to Nashville for a week. Next week is IBMA (International Bluegrass bla bla bla Association). This is the place last year where they turned lots of heads and got some much earned and needed attention. We are all hoping this year is even more fruitful. Especially since this year they have that handy dandy album finished to take and give to everyone. They also have a video they did and are giving it out. Fingers crossed! They already have 2 appointments set up with record labels for when they are out there.
Ok well I am at work of course so I better get back to business.
Happy Fall and happy Thursday! Love and miss each and every one of you!!
